Ask any bride about the most important aspect of her special day — odds are, she’ll tell you, without hesitation, “It’s all about the dress!” While I can create, concoct and coordinate most of the elements that allow for a truly magical wedding day, dress selection is a task that is entirely at the discretion of the bride-to-be. Furthermore, the wedding gown is one of those iconic pieces that are inextricably bound with the idea of marriage; the vision of a beautiful bride in an immaculate white gown, whether it’s simple and understated or sweeping and dramatic, is ingrained in the minds of most girls from early on. Of course, when it comes to choosing a dress, personal style is a key factor. I recently came across this couture bridal gown by Romona Keveza and was blown away by its showstopping glamour. From its fitted bodice to its full skirt, embellished by rose petal-like adornments, this dress is decidedly not for a bride who’s afraid to make a grand entrance (Images via Romona Keveza):
Romona Keveza is a designer whose body of work is quite remarkable; she has an amazing eye for detail, and perfectly balances tradition with modernity, while sometimes adding a hint of frivolity. Within each collection, there is truly something for every bride.
And, while we’re on the topic of glam “gowns,” here is something just a tad less wearable (ha ha!) but stunning nevertheless:
Granted, I took this photo at an event that I attended for The Knot a few months ago, but it goes without saying that this installation, constructed entirely of various flowers, commanded the attention of the room. As you can see, it also towers several feet above the rest of the guests! Talk about making a grand entrance…
