I was recently asked by the HuffPost Weddings blogto reflect on my experience while filming CMT’s “My Big Redneck Vacation,” which chronicled the Louisiana-bred Clampet family and their summer trip to the Hamptons. For those of you who don’t know, one of the central story-lines of the reality series was a wedding between Jared and Michelle, which I had the honor of planning. I can’t express how much fun I had throughout my time spent with Michelle, Jared and the rest of the Clampets. Through the process of planning the wedding, I was continuously reminded about the importance of family and being open to experiencing different cultures. Set your DVRs! Tomorrow (Tuesday), September 13 at 9/8c, “Wedding Fabulous: Sherri Shepherd Gets Married” premieres on the Style Network. Make sure to tune in to see Sherri and me in action as I planned her wedding to Lamar Sally, which took place last month. The special is full of laughs and love — not to mention a few familiar faces, such as Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Kym Whitely, Yvette Nicole Brown and Niecy Nash — and I hope you’ll all remember to watch! While filming for “Glamour‘s 25 Biggest Wedding Dos & Don’ts” on the Style Network, I had the pleasure of meeting the inimitable cake guru Sylvia Weinstock. Touted as the “Leonardo da Vinci of Cakes,” her incredible oeuvre certainly qualifies as art, as far as I’m concerned. DVR alert! This Saturday, April 23, at 9PM ET/PT, check out “Glamour‘s 25 Biggest Wedding Dos & Don’ts” on the Style Network, where I will be dispensing my wedding-day wisdom! Along with other top names in style and wedding planning, including Donnie Brown, Mindy Weiss and James Tramondo, as well as “How Do I Look?” host Jeannie Mai, Style Network star and E! News anchor Giuliana Rancic, TV personality La La, “Clean House” host Lisa Arch and Glamour editors, this show is a must-see for any bride, groom, or guest looking for tips, tricks and advice for the all-important big day.
