Huffington Post Weddings Blog Feature

I was recently asked by the HuffPost Weddings blogto reflect on my experience while filming CMT’s “My Big Redneck Vacation,” which chronicled the Louisiana-bred Clampet family and their summer trip to the Hamptons. For those of you who don’t know, one of the central story-lines of the reality series was a wedding between Jared and Michelle, which I had the honor of planning. I can’t express how much fun I had throughout my time spent with Michelle, Jared and the rest of the Clampets. Through the process of planning the wedding, I was continuously reminded about the importance of family and being open to experiencing different cultures. It was a positively life-changing experience for all parties involved! Read up on the ins and outs of the planning process by clicking HERE!

Did any of you happen to catch the wedding episode of “My Big Redneck Vacation,” or the season finale, which aired over this past weekend? What did you think?

Reminder: “Sherri Shepherd Gets Married” on Style Network Tomorrow!

Set your DVRs! Tomorrow (Tuesday), September 13 at 9/8c, “Wedding Fabulous: Sherri Shepherd Gets Married” premieres on the Style Network. Make sure to tune in to see Sherri and me in action as I planned her wedding to Lamar Sally, which took place last month. The special is full of laughs and love — not to mention a few familiar faces, such as Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Kym Whitely, Yvette Nicole Brown and Niecy Nash — and I hope you’ll all remember to watch! I’d love to hear what you think. In the meantime, here’s some sneak peek footage for a taste of what’s to come, courtesy of E! News:

“Wedding Fabulous: Sherri Shepherd Gets Married” on Style

With all due respect to Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, there is another upcoming wedding special that I am even more excited to tune into…but I am, admittedly, a little bit partial! On Tuesday, September 13 at 9PM ET/PT, the Style network is premiering the exclusive television event, “Wedding Fabulous: Sherri Shepherd Gets Married,” featuring the wedding that I planned for Sherri and her husband, Lamar Sally, which took place earlier this month!

Viewers are invited behind-the-scenes to witness all the excitement, from the early planning stages to the romantic one-of-a-kind wedding ceremony, and everything in between. Sherri’s friend and “The View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be there to lend a hand and joins celebrity bridesmaids Kym Whitley, Yvette Nicole Brown and Niecy Nash at the wedding celebration. The special also offers an inside look into Sherri’s incredibly busy schedule, as she makes appearances on “30 Rock” and hosts GSN’s “The Newlywed Game” in addition to juggling her many responsibilities in the weeks leading up to her big day. Viewers will also follow as Lamar moves from Los Angeles to Sherri’s home in New York as the couple embarks on their life together.

Viewers can expect to see hilarious dress fittings, bling by Jacob the Jeweler and the selection of the perfect cake. The team even coordinates a fun treat for the wedding guests – Sherri, Lamar and the entire bridal party plan to break out into a dance number at her reception. With her magnetic personality and bubbly sense of humor, Emmy award-winning talk show co-host, actress and comedienne Sherri Shepherd never fails to delight. I was so happy to be a part of this incredible event celebrating the love between Sherri and Lamar.

If you just can’t wait until September 13, take a look at this spread in Life & Style magazine, which gives you exclusive details on the magical day!

Kim Kardashian Weds!

As many of you may already know, this past Saturday marked the wedding of reality star Kim Kardashian and basketball player Kris Humphries. Details on the star-studded ceremony are few and far between; to get the lowdown on the big day, we’ll all have to tune into the the special that the couple filmed for E!, set to air in October. However, a few things are for certain: first and foremost, the lavish event wasn’t  short on extravagance. The wedding was held in the posh Montecito area in California, and the bride (and her sisters Kourtney and Khloe, who served as so-maids of honor) wore custom ivory Vera Wang. She also wore Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and a diamond-bedecked headpiece. In fact, it has been reported that Wang designed two additional dresses for Kim to wear throughout the reception. The groom, on the other hand, wore a white peak-lapel tuxedo jacket, black tuxedo pants, and a white shirt and bow tie, all by Ermenegildo Zegna. Kim’s stepfather, Bruce Jenner, walked her down the aisle, in front of over 440 guests, including Mario Lopez, Lindsay Lohan, Demi Lovato, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough, Eva Longoria and Serena Williams. Interestingly, the wedding had a black-and-white dress code (tabloids are reporting that Lindsay Lohan attempted to upstage the bride in a white Temperley gown that Pippa Middleton had previously worn in green to the Royal Wedding earlier this year — scandal!). Finally, in an adorable turn of events, her nephew, Kourtney’s 1 1/2 year-old son Mason, was the ringbearer! While it’s inevitable that more details will undoubtedly be revealed within the coming days and weeks, here are a couple of exclusive pictures (courtesy of E! News) to tide us over until October.

Mix it Up: Godiva Chocolate-Infused Vodka

godiva chocolate infused vodka cocktails spirits drinks 2011

Want to satiate your sweet tooth next time you’re entertaining guests or fixing yourself a little nightcap? Look no further than Godiva’s Chocolate-Infused Vodka! I recently received two bottles of the vodka — one strictly chocolate, the other chocolate raspberry — as a gift from a client, and both flavors are absolutely delicious. It’s incredibly smooth and isn’t sickeningly sweet or sugary. Have it on the rocks or mixed with the soda of your choice for a sweet (but entirely grown-up) treat! Unsurprisingly, it also pairs quite well with any of the famed chocolatier’s confections. It’s a no-brainer if you’re in the mood to indulge in a luxe libation.

Quick, simple and delectable. Not to mention, perfect for your next cocktail party or a night in with friends or a loved one, and it makes an excellent gift for anyone who appreciates the finer things in life!

What to Wear to Summer Soirées

After what felt like an interminable winter, it’s finally summertime in New York! With temperatures on the rise, and with social calendars becoming filled at a rapid pace, many women are faced with the age-old question: What to wear? Thankfully, Rochelle Gores Fredston, owner of ARCADE Boutique in West Hollywood, is here to solve your most vexing sartorial struggles. Located on Melrose Avenue — a veritable haven for the chic and stylish — carries an array of designs, from everyday casual wear to cocktail attire. With a designer list including Preen, Yigal Azrouel, Doo.Ri and Barbara Bui, and many others, ARCADE has cultivated quite a following among celebrities and stylists alike; Ali Larter, Cindy Crawford, Hillary Duff, Olivia Wilde, Audrina Patridge, Kelly Rutherford, Kristin Cavallari, Ke$ha, Rashida Jones and Nicky Hilton are among the boutique’s high-profile fans. Without further ado, here are some of Rochelle’s favorite items for the sunny season:

What to Wear to a Barbecue:

“A summer barbecue is an event where practically anything goes. If you feel like dressing up, this Maria floral dress by Preen is an excellent option, especially when paired with these Jerome C. Rousseau wedges. If you’d rather dress down, Arcade Label’s Georgette silk pocket tee packs a pop of color and looks great with cutoffs (these are from Black Orchid, and they are a versatile wardrobe essential). Finish off either of these outfits with Sedgwick’s Georgia chain bag in taupe, which was just named ‘the new It-accessory to tote around’ by Refinery29.”

What to Wear to a Summer Wedding:

“For a summer wedding, you can go a little more casual. Opt for something light and feminine, like this Rebecca Minkoff Rumi dress, which looks great with a Fallon leather and pearl choker. Another option is this strapless Rebecca Taylor snake print dress, which is effortlessly stylish yet comfortable. Wear it with a Rebecca Minkoff linen clutch.”

What to Wear to a Pool Party:

“One of the hottest swimsuits in the boutique is this super-flattering one-piece by Lenny. Because the top is adjustable (via the gold rings that adorn the straps), it suits virtually every body type, and it’s sexy without showing too much skin. Furthermore, the rouching in the center of the suit creates a slimming effect, which is an added bonus! This suit looks adorable and on-trend when paired with a Riller & Fount maxi skirt.

Arcade Label’s exclusive scarf is a multi-functional item; in addition to serving as a scarf (which is a must-have on chilly summer evenings), it can also work as a sarong or cover-up. Plus, it’s so incredibly soft, you won’t want to take it off! Lastly, tote your towel and sunscreen in style with this Snake Tote by Romy Gold, which pairs nicely with any summer ensemble.”
